Maiden at Work

I drew this picture the other day and I really like it.  It's of a woman by a stream.

"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised."

The Royal Wedding

So, I really loved Kate's wedding dress and when I saw this picture it really made me laugh!  I know some of the colors were changed............but it's still awesome.

My favorite Christian Songs

Whenever I have chores to do (which is fairly often) I always get out my ipod and listen to music. Because of personal beliefs I rarely listen to secular music so I listen to Christian music.  Some of my favorite songs are:
-You're Beautiful (Phil Wickham)
-Constant (Charlie Hall)
-Our God (Chris Tomlim)
-Mighty to Save (Michael W. Smith)
-What Faith Can Do (Kutless)
-Marvelous Light (Charlie Hall)
-Amazing Grace (John Newton)
-In Christ Alone (Keith Getty)

Count It Joy

Recently I went to a camp where we did mock elections for president.  One group used this as their logo.  It's gorgeous and it really gets their message across.  They wanted others to understand that the trials we go through in life are used to build us as people and so to count trials joy.  among the many groups to participate in these elections these two had the most eye catching logo by far.  They used a simple design and added a splash of color to make it a very appealing logo.

Photoshoot of me by me

So, the title may seem confusing but my camera has a beautiful self timing feature.  While I wouldn't consider it a fashion shoot I wanted to see how the style of shirt I was wearing really looked like.  I know it's just a generic t-shirt but I never wear them so it's a new style for me.
This was taken in our backyard as the sun was setting (so the lighting isn't perfect)
This style of shirt is really slimming on most people.
I really love the brick in this picture.  It really adds something to it.
So, you can't actually see the shirt here but I really love this picture.  It was taken on our front porch.

Why is art important?

A lot of people think that art is a convenient excuse to create immoral scenes.  Art is so much more than that though.  Through the ages certain artists (i.e. Micheal Angelo) have created art that actually fulfills the purpose of art.  Others (i.e. Picasso) have fallen woefully short of the goal. :)  Recently I heard a talk by John Stonestreet about art.  He told the audience that,

"Art defines what the world thinks is beautiful."

He says that those who want to go into art shouldn't be making fat, naked little cherubs but instead strong, fear-inspiring angels (like we see in the Bible).  Art gives us a chance to illustrate truth too.  Because art defines beauty anyone interested in art should practice and do their very best at it.

Welcome to my blog!

Hey Guys!
I've just started this blog (obviously) in it I'm going to post about my life, fashion, art and beauty.  I'm thinking this will be a fun thing to do.  I'll be sharing my passions and my heart here.
